Wranx wins the Brandon Hall Group Award in Best Advance in Technology for Testing and Learning Evaluation!

"Awards" December 18 2019

unnamedWranx’s most recent recognition is by the Brandon Hall Group in their Excellence in Technology Awards. The Team picked up the bronze award in the category of ‘Best Advance in Technology for Testing or Learning Evaluation’, which is due to our work with Certainty Based Marking (CBM) assessments.

This is a fantastic recognition for Wranx as the Excellence Awards only recognise the best organisations that have successfully deployed programs, strategies, modalities, processes, systems and tools that have achieved measurable results. The full list of 2019 winners can be found here.

As well as being a reinforcement tool, Wranx can also provide methods of effective learning evaluation through assessments and CBM. Combining pre and post-assessments generates an a/b test, which highlights improvements to the level of knowledge attained. However, if preferred, Wranx can create stand-alone multiple-choice assessments to measure the effectiveness of other training types (e.g. classroom learning).

To enhance assessments and create a more accurate test, multiple-choice assessments can be evaluated by CBM. This requires learners to rate their certainty of their answer from ‘High’ to ‘Low’, stimulating a higher level of thinking and cutting out the guesswork. The scoring system is also different in a CBM assessment – if the learner selects high certainty and answers correctly, the highest score is awarded. If they select high certainty and answer incorrectly, their score will decrease.

This method of assessment proved particularly effective for The North Face®, who utilised it for product knowledge and retail based training:

CBM assessments take away the guessing element that traditional multiple-choice training usually has – you have to be honest with your answers! You can learn more about this innovative assessment approach in our in-depth guide.
